Hi my name is George Harris and I am a musician based in Ottawa, Canada.
I have been teaching flute and composition for over a decade to students of all ages and levels of experience. My students have been very successful in their musical endeavors including going on to win competitions and university auditions.
I specialize in the classical style but am equally excited to teach techniques for playing in jazz, hip-hop, pop styles, & more.

+Do you teach any instruments other than flute?
Yes! I also teach beginner saxophone, clarinet, piano, guitar, ukulele, & voice.
+Do I need to have experience playing music already?
Not at all! I’ve helped many students start learning music from the very beginning; including help with deciding on their first instrument.
+Are you able to teach in French?
Oui! Je suis également content d’enseigner en français.
+Can you teach me how to read music and other music theory?
Yes! I have a lot of experience teaching composition, songwriting, music history, theory, improvisation, and ear training as well.
+Can you really teach me how to write music?
Absolutely. Writing music is a skill like any other and even someone with no idea how to start can eventually make it a long way if they work hard and have someone showing them the way.
+What are your policies regarding COVID-19?
Please contact me to discuss in-studio options. In addition to teaching in my studio I have been having great success with online video lessons for over a year now.
